Dooryard at a Glance

The Dooryard Arts Festival, the flagship event of the River Valley Arts Alliance, was designed with two goals in mind: first, to shine a light on the extensive pool of talent in the Upper Saint John River Valley; and second, to foster an environment where our downtown is abuzz with activity, excitement, and a sense of renewal.

In 2009, the inaugural Festival saw more than one thousand participants take part in downtown musical showcases, art demonstrations, workshops, wine tastings, theatrical productions, and concerts over the course of four days. Many of the events were offered for free, or at a low cost to festival-goers. In 2010 we hope to improve on the model with the second annual Dooryard Festival, featuring more artists, more musicians, an expanded street market, and additional venues. We encourage you to check out some of the many events and activities lined up for this year’s Festival, and to discover some of the area’s greatest talents right in our own Dooryard!
